Dr. Whatley holds a professional degree in Clinical Psychology from the Universidade Federal de Psicologia do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a Ph.D. in School Administration and a Master's Degree in Human Resources Development from Colorado State University. She is the recipient of various accolades and awards in business and in education.

Dr. Whatley has an intense personality. She loves people and life. She puts her heart, soul, and mind in everything and anything that she does. She loves life and adores education. "Education," she says, "is the road to sensible discernment, to spiritual happiness, and the mental balance that ensures physical and emotional freedom."

As a teacher, Dr. Whatley developed and implemented curricula for several courses for the Emily Griffith Opportunity School, including: Business, Entrepreneurship, International Trade, Risk Taking, Stress Management, Self Analysis for Career Training, Job Seeking Skills, Culinary Arts, Real Estate, Insurance Designations, and Transportation Logistics.

She also developed and taught Self-Development courses for the staff of the City and County of Denver, the Denver Public Schools, the Denver Urban League, the Denver Police Department, and the American Institute of Banking.
